Reading & Reflection from the book, Shaping The Journey of Emerging Adults

  • Read the email of 27-year old Megan in the introduction (pp. 13-14).  If the local church acted more like a “levee”, do you think you/your generation would be more engaged in the church? Why or why not?

  • Of the six factors of spiritual erosion (pp. 127, 128), which have you faced? What kind of help would you like to receive via the local church for these challenges?

  • Read "The Christlife In Relationship" (pp. 150-152) Do you agree that pursuing the Christlife is both “causal” and “communal”?  Why or why not?

  • Mentor: Read through the Discernment, Intentionality, and Reflection options for chapter 8 (pp. 136-141).  Identify one or two of these actions you would like to explore with the young adult.  Share your desire with them and hear their feedback.
